Queenstown Creek Sunset

This is another sketch I painted in Queenstown Creek on the Fourth of July. I didn't like the boat that was anchored in front of the marshes, so I painted my own boat in!

A general comment, Suzanne talks about making lansdscapes less "flat" by trying to incorporate natural lighting.

I believe that this painting is suffering from several things. I painted it quickly with my crummy old dried out watercolors, so I got no real darks. I think the photo is slightly washed out, too. And I painted a Triton by memory... I was out in the natural lighting, though! I'm also looking at my PC laptop... if you have a decent Mac, it might look better!
