Solomons Island
Daniel took these photos when we were cycling around Solomons Island yesterday evening on bikes that we borrowed from Spring Cove Marina, where we stayed the night. Spring Cove is an excellent marina with a great pool! We had a tasty dinner at DiGiovanni's Dock of the Bay
This was the post I tried to publish last week that didn't work.

September 6, 2013, Part Two
Late in the day, we decided to explore the Little Choptank some more, so we pulled up the anchor and motored up to Phillips Creek. We started up into Beckwith Creek and encouraged by a large ocean-going ketch moored at its headwaters, cautiously entered the creek. We anchored in 8.5 feet of water. It's quite lovely here.

We spent most of the day anchored on Hudson Creek on the Little Choptank reading. When we took Morgaine out for a sail we found a frog living in her sail! Ugh! I flicked him in the water and he started swimming. I hope he made it to shore!

Had a great sail today up to Hudson Creek on the Little Choptank River. We had to start the engine in the middle of the day when we were becalmed, but then we were able to sail again up the Little Choptank. We're anchored in a pretty cove with a bald eagle hanging out in a tree on shore.

Daniel and I started our cruise Saturday morning. This is the first evening I have 3G cell phone reception. On Saturday we sailed from Annapolis to Baby Owl Cove on Leadenham Creek on Broad Creek off the Choptank. It was a tiring upwind sail, so we stayed in that anchorage until this morning. Today we went to the fuel dock in Oxford for diesel, water, and ice. Then we sailed to a lovely anchorage on La Trappe Creek. So far the weather has been pretty good!

Penns Creek July 2013
This is the scruffy stray cat that introduced himself to us at the cabin last weekend. We wanted to take him home with us, but he was nowhere to be found when we were leaving. I hope he's ok.
The mighty Penns Creek.

Round Bay and The South River
These 7" by 10" Watercolor sketches are both from last weekend. Since I couldn't sail Ca Ira, I took Morgaine out in Round Bay and painted the above sketch.
Sunday, I rode my bike down to Thomas Point State Part and painted this sketch of the boats in the mouth of the South River.
