Irene Snapshots

View from the roof as Irene arrives Saturday morning and it starts to rain.

View from the Spa Creek Bridge on Sunday morning as Irene departs.

View from the roof east towards the Chesapeake Bay as the cloud bank from Irene departs on Sunday afternoon.

View from the roof towards St. Mary's of the cloud bank going North.

Looking towards the Naval Academy, the last of Irene heads North.

Irene leaves a bright sunny day reflected in the roof-top pool!

Lots of leaves down after the storm.  The three day power outage wasn't very fun, but I hope that the people in areas harder hit recover rapidly!

Calm on Maynedier Creek on Monday evening.  The boats were comfortable in their hurricane hole!

Small Summer Boat Projects

I installed two 12V cigarette lighter-type outlets.  These are attached to a cabinet, not hanging loose on a wire that falls into the sink (like the old one!)

I splurged and got a new electrical cable for the GPS.  Now it can run off the boat batteries instead of endless AA batteries!

My Dad fixed the navigation lights for me!  Knock on wood, they all work now!!!

Wednesday Night

I went sailing on my friend's J24 yesterday evening. It was so windy that waves kept breaking over the deck and soaking us, but I managed to get these three snaps of the Wednesday night racing fleet without getting the camera wet!

This summer I've been hanging out with old friends

by the rooftop pool.

I travelled to Detroit

and Charleston,

and of course, I've been sailing.
