I worked from last year's sketch of Mill Creek to create this oil painting in the studio this June.

- I earned a BFA at Syracuse University and spent a year studying abroad in Florence, Italy. I am now a sailmaker and artist in Annapolis, MD. I race and cruise my three sailboats on the weekends. I enjoy painting landscapes, especially around the Chesapeake Bay. Often I will paint a watercolor sketch on site and then paint a finished oil from it in the studio. I have also been working on pet portraits, still lifes, and figure drawings lately. I also post photos of boat projects, sailing, traveling, and my life on this blog.

Neat to take the watercolor study and to create and oil...beautiful shapes, contrasts and textures in this one!!! Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Actually, it's just too hard to work in oils on a boat. And what do you do with the wet oil painting when you're done? There's no where to secure it where it can't either fall or get wet!
