9" x 12" oil on canvas board. This was an old painting that I had painted in a style very different from how I paint now. I found it on a shelf and reworked it.

Cleat
It's been a rough couple of weeks, I've been varnishing Ca Ira's exterior brightwork. I also emptied, removed, and sent the fuel tank off to get repaired. When it came home, I cleaned the inside of it. I also delt with the short in the starboard running light which caused me to lose all my nav lights and electronics one evening while motoring through the harbor! At any rate, I finally found an hour to draw. This is one of Ca Ira's bow cleats. It's a good thing that I went up to the foredeck looking for something to sketch; this line had somehow untied itself and needed recleating!

Leech Line Cleat
I haven't been painting much lately, I have too many boat projects at the moment. But here is another illustration from the Housley Sailmakers' Production Manual. This drawing shows how to place a leech line cleat. I seem to be straying from the initial idea of posting my oil and watercolor landscapes and pet portraits, but I hope to get back to that soon!

Handsewn Hanks
These are two more sketches from the Housley Sailmaker's Production Manual. These are part of the sequence detailing how to handsew hanks onto sails.
