Thanks, Meghan! Yeah, I think you're right, the rug alone would be a good painting. It would be very flat, but would be an interesting study of texture and color. I'll keep it in mind.
I earned a BFA at Syracuse University and spent a year studying abroad in Florence, Italy. I am now a sailmaker and artist in Annapolis, MD. I race and cruise my three sailboats on the weekends. I enjoy painting landscapes, especially around the Chesapeake Bay. Often I will paint a watercolor sketch on site and then paint a finished oil from it in the studio. I have also been working on pet portraits, still lifes, and figure drawings lately. I also post photos of boat projects, sailing, traveling, and my life on this blog.

Love this one. Especially the rug. A painting of the rug, only, could be a cool piece in itself.
